You Can't Do God Without Sacrifice
In this powerful message, we're challenged to consider the true meaning of sacrifice in our spiritual lives. The sermon delves into the Old Testament sacrificial system, particularly focusing on the burnt offering, grain offering, and peace offering from Leviticus. These ancient practices point us to Jesus' ultimate sacrifice and our call to be 'living sacrifices' as described in Romans 12:1. We're reminded that while Jesus 'paid it all,' there's still a cost to discipleship. The story of King David purchasing Araunah's threshing floor (2 Samuel 24) beautifully illustrates that true sacrifice must cost us something. This message encourages us to examine our lives and ask: Are we offering God our best, or just what's convenient? Are we willing to say 'no' to ourselves to say 'yes' to Jesus? As we approach Passion Week, let's reflect on Christ's sacrifice and consider how we can offer our lives more fully to God.
